Hoi An Food Tour

Hungry?  Looking for some really tasty Vietnamese food?  Then head to Hoi An food tour for a perfect foodie experience.  And, in our case get a chance to meet a delightful young lady named Lucy who will not only impress you with her extensive knowledge of local food but enchant you with her charming personality.

The Hoi An Food Tour lasts almost 4 hours but it’s 4 of the best hours you will spend in the ancient Unesco World Heritage City.  And the food…12 of the best local foods we have experienced in this food lovers paradise.  We started with Banh Trang Nuong which is a bit like pizza but with rice paper, pork and quail eggs for toppings.  Then it was on to White Rose, the famous local dumpling company to watch how pork dumplings are made–about 5,000 per day–all by hand.

I can’t tell you which course I liked the most they were all so good but the Banh Mi from Ba Phuong Bread would certainly rank near the top. It’s easy to understand why they are known for making the “best banh mi in Vietnam”.

Then there was Vietnamese coffee, Cao Lau Noodles, and more.  But probably the best part of the tour was several courses with a local family.  There we were served mini coconut pancakes, fried spring rolls and sliced pork wrapped in rice paper.  We even got a taste of home made wine which was surprisingly complex and tasty.

But what we loved the most about the tour was Lucy, our guide, who bubbled over with enthusiasm about her city and it’s food. What a treat!
